News & Notes: Junior Heptathletes & Coaches

Calling all interested junior athletes and coaches: USA Heptathlon is back on track, Hyleas Foundation won the silver medal in Beijing and there are other athletes moving up on the scoring lists. We will post information regularly on competitions for juniors, camps and clinics nationally and regionally, and any other information that will be helpful to the education and development of junior heptathletes and their coaches.

A couple notes for now:

Texas Greatest Athlete - Heptathlon competition in Dallas, Texas June 6-7, 2009 (open to athletes from any state!) which also hosts a concurrent competition with elite and emerging elite heptathletes!

USATF Jr. Elite Heptathlon Camp - Olympic Training Center, Chula Vista, CA - dates and details to be announced. This camp will be by qualification and funded by USATF.

Coaches: If you are not USATF Level I Certified, do so ASAP; if you are, apply for the USATF Level II Combined Events School this summer (go to USATF.org and click Coaches Education)
